Continuing its development in the United Kingdom, EDF Energies Nouvelles announces the commissioning of Park Spring (8.5 MW), Burnhead Moss (26 MW) and Rhodders (12.3 MW) by its local subsidiary EDF Energy Renewables, attached -venture with EDF Energy.
In Scotland, the Rhodders and Burnhead Moss wind farms are located in the Clackmannanshire and Central Lowlands regions respectively:
- Rhodders consists of six turbines with an installed capacity of 12.3 MW. It constitutes the second extension of the Burnfoot Hill wind farm – 26.7 MW commissioned in 2010, to which were added the 4.1 MW of Burnfoot North in 2014.
The electricity generated by the entire Burnfoot Hill facility (43.1 MW) meets the annual energy needs of almost 23,000 Scottish homes. - With an installed capacity of 26 MW with 13 turbines, the Burnhead Moss wind farm provides energy to the equivalent of 14,500 Scottish homes each year.
In England in the south of the county of Yorkshire, the 8.5 MW Park Spring wind installation is made up of three turbines.
Its annual electricity production is equivalent to the energy consumption of 4,600 English homes.
The operation and maintenance of Park Spring is carried out by EDF EN Services UK, the local subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles dedicated to this activity and of EDF Energy.
To date, EDF Energy Renewables has almost 600 MW of installed wind energy capacity in the UK, including 62 MW of offshore wind.
