Luminus, EDF Renewables and Jan De Nul join forces for an offshore wind project in Belgium

Luminus, EDF Renewables, and Jan De Nul Group have joined forces to respond to an offshore wind call for tenders in Belgium for the first phase of the Princess Elisabeth Zone.

The Princess Elisabeth Zone was determined by the Belgian federal authorities with a view to increasing the production of renewable electricity in the country. The total offshore wind energy capacity ultimately produced over the three phases of the area could reach 3.5 GW.

The creation of a joint venture will allow the three partners to combine their expertise and experience in offshore wind power to offer a qualitative and competitive offer. With this project, Luminus, EDF Renouvelables and Jan De Nul Group are committed to achieving Belgium's objectives in terms of developing renewable energies.

EDF Renewables is a key international player in offshore wind power, already operating the C-Power offshore wind projects in Belgium since 2012. Jan De Nul, a leading company in Belgium, has extensive global experience in the offshore and maritime wind sectors. Finally, Luminus, leader in the field of renewable energies in Belgium, develops its activities as a vertically integrated electricity producer, energy supplier and energy service provider.

After working with EDF Renewables and Luminus for several months, we found that we share the same overall objectives for the offshore wind sector: developing new large-scale projects to reduce costs, creating opportunities for the offshore wind sector. local supply, develop the project in close collaboration with local stakeholders and contribute to the Belgian energy transition. »
