A key player in wind power and photovoltaics in France, EDF Energies Nouvelles, a subsidiary of the EDF Group, confirms its deployment in France by announcing:
- the commissioning of the most powerful wind farm in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, with an installed capacity of 66.5 MW;
- the current construction of eight wind or solar farms, totaling nearly 190 MW, which will be commissioned in the coming months;
- confirmation of the success of the self-consumption offers launched by its subsidiary EDF ENR, leader in distributed solar, both in the Professional segment, with a cumulative 10.7 MWp won during the last two calls for tender, and in the Individual segment with 1,500 “Mon Soleil & Moi” installations;
- finally, the acquisition in partnership of two wind projects in development, for a total capacity of 84 MW.
These developments thus contribute to the implementation of the EDF Group's strong strategic ambition, CAP 2030, to increase the share of renewable energies in its energy mix.
The Montagne-Ardéchoise wind farm is located in five municipalities in the Ardèche department. Made up of 26 turbines, this park, with an installed capacity of 66.5 MW, will produce for 25 years the equivalent of the annual electricity consumption of 72,000 inhabitants, or more than 20% of the Ardèche population.
Its construction, which lasted two years, involved up to 150 people. A wind turbine maintenance base is planned on the Ardèche plateau where six long-term local jobs will be created.
EDF Energies Nouvelles is strengthening its presence in France and continuing its wind and solar development.
Currently, the Group operates more than 1,462 MW of installed power in its historic market and is building six wind farms and two solar farms for a cumulative capacity of nearly 190 MW.
EDF Energies Nouvelles has acquired interests in two wind projects, in partnership, for a total of 84 MW of capacity to be installed, in the Occitanie region.
Finally, as part of the results of government solar calls for tenders, the company has just won:
- two large ground-mounted photovoltaic power plant projects, totaling 15 MWp of installed power;
- 24 roof self-consumption projects, won by EDF ENR on behalf of its customers, corresponding to a total of 8.7 MWp, or almost half of the 20 MWp allocated.
