Julien Marchal appointed Director of Strategy and Sustainable Development at EDF Renewables

Paris, May 30, 2023 – EDF Renewables announces the appointment of Julien Marchal as Director of Strategy and Sustainable Development of EDF Renewables in succession to Carlotta Gentile Latino as of 1er  June 2023. As such, he will be a member of the EDF Renewables Management Committee.

Julien Marchal began his career in France in 2009 in the service of the State within the Ministry of Energy. He then joined the office of the President of the Republic then the office of the Minister of Economy and Industry, where he notably contributed to work relating to the law on energy transition and that relating to the reorganization of the sector. nuclear.

In 2017, he joined as Director of Development and Commerce, Naval Energies, a subsidiary of Naval Group dedicated to renewable energies. At the same time, he is president of France Energie Marine from December 2017 to October 2021 and the position of vice-president of the offshore wind commission of the Syndicat des Energies Renouvelables (SER).

Since 2021, he has managed all solar, wind and small hydroelectricity activities of Compagnie Nationale du Rhône (CNR). As part of this function, he created the CNR subsidiary in charge of development in the field of photovoltaics on buildings and carried out the acquisition and development of several portfolios of solar and wind projects in France. He was also a director of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region's investment fund in renewable energies.

Julien Marchal is an engineer from the Polytechnic School and an engineer from Ecole Nationale des ponts et chaussées.
