EDF Renewables commissions a 22 MW wind farm in Champagne

EDF Renewables continues its development in France with the commissioning of the Pays d'Anglure wind farm with an installed capacity of
22 MW in the Marne department. This new park is part of the EDF Group's Cap 2030 strategy, which aims to double, between 2015 and 2030, EDF's renewable capacities in France and around the world to bring them to 50 GW net.

In the heart of the Marne region, this new park has 6 wind turbines and extends over the communes of Allemanche-Launay-et-Soyer and La Chapelle-Lasson. The low-carbon electricity that it will produce each year is equivalent to the electricity consumption of 26,000 inhabitants, or nearly 5 % of the department's population, for more than 20 years.

The location and sizing of the wind turbines were defined following technical, environmental and landscape studies, to optimize the insertion of the park into its environment and promote biodiversity. The project mobilized around fifty people on the site for a year.

Nicolas Couderc, France Director of EDF Renewables, declared: “The Pays d'Anglure wind farm adds to the 1.9 GW of gross wind and solar capacity we have in France. EDF Renewables is a major player in the country's energy transition, and we are proud to contribute to the ambitious objectives currently being defined by the Multi-Annual Energy Program.
