Paris, September 7, 2021 – EDF Renewables announces the launch of a crowdfunding campaign for the floating solar power plant under construction by EDF Renewables in Lazer, in the Hautes-Alpes department (Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur). With a total amount of €179,000, the collection will allow the local population to invest, via the Lendosphere platform, in this future renewable installation, which is scheduled to come into service in the summer of 2022.
Involve residents in the construction of a solar power plant
This collection, which starts today via the site www.lendosphere.com/lazer, aims to finance part of the construction of the Lazer floating solar power plant on an artificial reservoir of a hydroelectric dam. Installed on a system of floats, more than 50,000 panels are distributed across the water reservoir.
Set at €179,000, this crowdfunding is reserved for:
• from September 6 to 20 to residents of Lazer and the community of communes of Sisteronais-Buëch;
• then, from September 21, to residents of the departments of Hautes-Alpes, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Drôme, Isère and Savoie.
Investing in sustainable economic recovery and energy transition
This floating solar power plant will produce renewable electricity, and the equivalent of the annual electricity consumption of 12,500 people. It will contribute to local dynamism and generate direct economic benefits for communities. This project demonstrates a strong commitment from local authorities, and in particular from the municipality of Lazer, to participate in the energy transition. For EDF Renewables, it is about sustainably supporting territories in their low-carbon ambitions while generating economic benefits at the local level.
For Nicolas Ruffini, Project Director of EDF Renewables: “The solar power plant floating Lazer is a technological challenge illustrating all the innovation and know-how of which the EDF group teams are capable, as well as our ability to carry out projects complex. We are happy that crowdfunding also allows residents to participate in the local development of renewable energies while benefiting from financial income from the project. »
