Paris, January 5, 2021 – EDF Renewables announces the opening of crowdfunding for the construction of the 14.4 MW Télégraphe wind farm, in Vermenton in Yonne. With a total amount of €200,000, the collection will allow the local population to invest, from January 5 until February 15, 2021, in this renewable installation which is scheduled to come into service in April 2021.
The collection is open today to all residents of Yonne and neighboring departments.
Involve residents in the construction of a wind farm
This collection, whose campaign starts on January 5, 2021, via the site www.lendosphere.com/telegraphe, aims to partly finance the construction of the Télégraphe wind farm which began in January 2020. Located in the town of Vermenton, the future park of 4 wind turbines will have a total capacity of 14.4 MW. Thanks to this crowdfunding operation, citizens become stakeholders in the Télégraphe wind farm and in the Region's energy transition. The collection, set at €200,000 and taking place until February 15, is reserved for residents of the departments where the project is located and bordering (Aube, Côte-d'Or, Loiret, Nièvre, Seine-et-Marne and Yonne).
Investing in sustainable economic recovery and transition
The Télégraphe wind project marks the desire of local authorities to promote the development of renewable energies. For EDF Renewables, it is a question of sustainably supporting the territories in their ambitions and of carrying out projects that respect the environment while generating economic benefits at the local level.
From its planned commissioning in April 2021, the park will produce 36 GWh annually, which corresponds to the average annual electricity consumption of around 14,500 people, or nearly 95% of the population of the Community of Communes Chablis, Villages and Terroirs.
For Jennifer Ménage, Burgundy Franche-Comté Regional Manager of EDF Renewables: “The Télégraphe wind farm is the result of close collaboration between the region and EDF Renewables. It demonstrates a strong commitment from local authorities to participate in the energy transition. We are pleased that crowdfunding also allows local residents and residents of the Region to get involved in the local development of renewable energies while benefiting from financial income from the project. »
