Lyon, September 8, 2021 – EDF Renewables announces the launch of a crowdfunding campaign for the Niévroz solar power plant, currently under construction in Ain (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region). With a total amount of €125,000, the collection will allow the local population to invest, via the Lendosphere platform, in this future renewable installation which is scheduled to be commissioned in early 2022.
Involve residents in the construction of a solar power plant
This collection, which starts today via the site www.lendosphere.com/nievroz, aims to finance part of the construction of the Niévroz solar power plant, located on the town's former alluvial material quarry. With a total power of nearly 13 MW, the Niévroz solar power plant is made up of around 32,870 panels. From its commissioning scheduled for early 2022, it will produce annually the equivalent of the average annual electricity consumption of around 3,100 homes.
Work on the plant began in December 2020.
Set at €125,000, crowdfunding is reserved for:
• To residents of the Côtière community of communes in Montluel, from September 6 to 20;
• To residents of the Ain department, from September 21 to October 20;
• And finally, to the neighboring departments: Ain, Haute-Savoie, Jura, Isère, Rhône, Saône-et-Loire and Savoie, from October 20.
Investing in sustainable economic recovery and energy transition
Crowdfunding like that of the Niévroz solar power plant constitutes an essential lever to meet the growing demand from individuals to engage in the development of renewable projects close to their homes.
The Nievroz project makes it possible to sustainably support territories in their low-carbon ambitions while generating economic benefits at the local level. Several companies from the department (Famy, Fournand et Fils) and the region (Saône-et-Loire Paysage, Acer Campestre, ELys, Eiffage Énergie Systèmes, etc.) are working on the construction of this project. Once in operation, the solar power plant will contribute to local dynamism and generate direct economic benefits for communities.
For Francis Audigier, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes regional manager of EDF Renewables: “The Niévroz solar power plant is the culmination of a project carried out and desired by the municipality of Niévroz. It is a great satisfaction to see it come to fruition today, especially since it was the subject of close collaboration between the territory and EDF Renewables to design a project adapted to its environment with strong measures. in favor of biodiversity. We are pleased that crowdfunding also allows residents to participate in the local development of renewable energies while benefiting from financial income from the project. ".
INFORMATION ONLINE
An information center is organized on Wednesday September 15 between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Niévroz village hall, in the presence of the EDF Renewables and Lendosphere teams. Its objective is to present to residents the terms of investment in the solar power plant.
