Paris, August 5, 2022 – EDF Renewables announces the opening of crowdfunding, via the WiSEED platform, for the construction of the Moulon de Blé solar power plant, in Eyguières, in Bouches-du-Rhône.
This collection, open from August 4 to September 25, will allow the local population to invest in the photovoltaic power plant. This fundraising campaign is open to residents of the Bouches-du-Rhône department, as well as residents of the neighboring departments of Gard, Var and Vaucluse.
The Moulon de Blé solar power plant is located on the site of a former colluvium extraction quarry, in the town of Eyguières. With this photovoltaic project and thanks to close collaboration with the municipality, the land will host a renewable energy production activity.
With a total installed capacity of 11.4 MW, the Moulon de Blé photovoltaic power plant is made up of 21,330 panels and will extend over 9 hectares. It will produce annually the equivalent of the average electricity consumption of around 7,400 people, a little more than the population of Eyguieres. The commissioning of the plant is planned for the end of 2022.
The WiSEED platform makes it possible to finance part of the construction of this power plant, work on which began in November 2021. With a goal of €200,000, this crowdfunding makes it possible to involve residents in a project that is part of the approach energy and ecological transition led by the South Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region, which wishes to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
Local residents can ask their questions on the collection site, which also presents the investment terms: https://www.wiseed.com/projet/268984591
For Sofiane Boukebbous, South-East and Overseas Area Director of EDF Renewables: “We are very pleased to offer citizens the opportunity to participate in crowdfunding for the Moulon de Blé photovoltaic power plant. Through this installation, the municipality and EDF Renewables contribute to the achievement of national and regional energy transition objectives by developing a photovoltaic project on an anthropized site. »
