EDF Renewables, a major player in wind and solar energy in France, is simultaneously launching two crowdfunding campaigns for the photovoltaic projects of Ambès (33) and Artix (64) on the leading digital investment platform WiSEED. Between now and March 8, each campaign aims to raise €200,000 from residents of Gironde and Pyrénées-Atlantiques, as well as neighboring departments[1], to help finance the construction of future solar power plants.
Launch of two local collections aiming to each raise €200,000 to help finance the Ambès and Artix solar projects
With the aim of favoring local financing, EDF Renewables is opening these crowdfunding campaigns exclusively reserved for residents of the departments hosting solar projects on their territory and those neighboring them.
These projects offer 5.5% of annual return over a period of 4 years[2], the investment is accessible on WiSEED from 100€.

Beyond the economic benefits for the territories, these projects give local residents the opportunity to participate in projects that are part of the energy and ecological transition process led by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region.
Local, virtuous and sustainable projects, in line with the challenges of territorial energy transition
The Ambès solar project is on the site of a former thermal power station, in the eponymous commune in Gironde (33). With an installed capacity of around 9 MWp, the future photovoltaic plant will have more than 25,500 panels and will occupy an area of 10 hectares. The installation will generate the equivalent of the electricity needs of nearly 5,000 Girondins.
In the municipalities of Pardies, Os-Marsillon and Artix in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques (64), the Artix photovoltaic power plant project will be installed on land of more than 4 hectares of a former thermal power plant. With an installed capacity of around 4 MWp, the future solar power plant will have more than 11,000 panels. The installation will generate the equivalent of the electricity needs of more than 2,400 Basques and Béarnais.
Construction of these two projects will begin in a few weeks, with commissioning in June 2020.
In line with EDF's industrial production site management plan, these solar power plants will contribute to the revaluation of artificial land, since they are located on the sites of former thermal power plants which present technical and environmental predispositions favorable to the construction of ground-mounted photovoltaic power plants.
For David Augeix, Southern Region Director of EDF Renewables: “ EDF Renewables is proud to launch these new crowdfunding campaigns for the Ambès and Artix solar projects. These local collections offer the opportunity for populations, and all local stakeholders, to get involved in the development of these regional projects and to commit to the energy transition alongside a solid, leading player. of the production of electricity from renewable sources in France and around the world ".
For Christophe Azaïs, Managing Director of WiSEED: “ We are delighted that EDF Renewables has once again chosen our platform to support these two collections. Allowing individuals to participate in local projects, close to their territories in the energy sector is the promise of WiSEED. This is a new illustration that investment can be digital, meaningful and have a real impact on the economy of our country's territories. »
