EDF Renewables and Lendosphere launch a crowdfunding campaign for the construction of the Beaurepaire solar power plant (Vendée)

Paris, March 15, 2022 – EDF Renewables announces the opening of crowdfunding, via Lendosphere, for the construction of the Beaurepaire solar power plant, in Vendée. With a total amount of 295,000 euros, the collection will allow the local population to invest from March 21 in this photovoltaic power plant, which is scheduled to be commissioned in the summer of 2022.

This fundraising campaign is open exclusively to residents of the local department, Vendée (85), and neighboring departments: Charente-Maritime (17), Loire-Atlantique (44), Maine-et-Loire (49), Deux -Sèvres (79).

Investment terms (yield, duration, etc.) are available on:

Involve residents in the energy transition of their region

With a total installed capacity of 14 MW, the Beaurepaire photovoltaic power plant is made up of around 20,000 panels. It will produce 16.8 GWh annually, the equivalent of the electricity consumption of approximately 7,500 inhabitants (25 % of the population of the community of Communes du Pays des Herbiers). The project was carried out jointly with the municipality of Beaurepaire throughout the duration of the project's development. Being located on a former mine, the Beaurepaire project therefore represents an opportunity to develop this site. It was developed with respect for the local environment, in consultation with the agricultural world and with a view to sustainable development of the territory. Work on the plant began in September. Commissioning is planned for September 2022.

Decarbonize your savings by participating in a short circuit project

This participatory capital financing allows investors to support the energy transition of the municipality of Beaurepaire by financing the redevelopment of an old mine, while benefiting from economic spinoffs. This is the opportunity to decarbonize their savings by participating in a short circuit project. Investors will be kept informed of the construction site and the production of the plant.

For Laura Habegre, head of the Nantes agency – EDF Renewables: “The Beaurepaire solar power plant is the result of close collaboration between the region and EDF Renewables, but also of the desire of the municipality of Beaurepaire to engage in renewable energies. This project is fully part of the process of rehabilitating former industrial sites with a view to developing low-carbon energies in the region. ".
