EDF Renewables accelerates its digital transformation by choosing OVHcloud

Paris, December 1, 2021 – EDF Renouvelables, one of the international leaders in renewable energies, has chosen to entrust the hosting of part of its digital data to OVHcloud. This project results in the migration of applications and data from the EDF Renewables information system to the OVHcloud private cloud platform in France and internationally. Such a decision guarantees the confidentiality and interoperability of the hosted data while providing the agility necessary for future EDF Renewables projects.

EDF Renewables' solar, onshore and offshore wind energy activities generate a rapidly growing volume of data, in France and internationally. As part of its digital transformation project, the renewable energy supplier has chosen to entrust the hosting and security of its IT data to OVHcloud.

The Hosted Private Cloud solution will provide a private, highly available and scalable environment. Distributed across several data centers, it will provide EDF Renewables' IT system with the hyper-resilience of a certified confidential network.

EDF Renouvelables has also chosen to integrate its SAP environments into its migration project. An operation completed by the recent obtaining of SAP Cloud and Infrastructures Operations certification on OVHcloud's French data centers.

We are delighted to sign this partnership with the French provider OVHcloud. The offer allows us to strengthen the security of our data on a trusted cloud. This project, which contributes to the digital transformation of the company, is part of the strategic orientations of the EDF group, particularly involved in the implementation of the Gaia-X ecosystem. », declares Vincent Gayrard, Director of Information Systems and Digital at EDF Renewables.

We welcome the choice of EDF Renewables, whose expressed needs have led us to work hand in hand to offer a service meeting all the criteria of an energy producer: offering hyper-resilience on an international scale, in the respect for the values of the trusted cloud, which therefore escapes any extra-territorial law » comments Caroline Comet-Fraigneau, VP France, Benelux and Africa at OVHcloud.
