EDF Energies Nouvelles announces the signature of several new operation-maintenance (O&M) contracts concerning the management of wind and solar installations for its own account and on behalf of third parties. The largest contracts concern 656 MW in the United States, 599 MW in Italy and 588 MW in Canada.
In 2014, EDF Energies Nouvelles' O&M activity experienced overall growth from 201TP3Q internationally, going from 9.1 GW to nearly 11 GW of capacity to manage in nine countries.
Operations-Maintenance in Europe: ramp-up in new countries
Today, EDF EN Services, a subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles dedicated to O&M in Europe, is establishing a foothold in Italy to manage 599 MW of new assets, mainly wind power.
This management is carried out on behalf of a structure dedicated to renewable energies in Italy, co-owned by Edison, EDF Energies Nouvelles and the investor F2i.
After France, Greece, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Poland at the start of 2014, Italy represents the sixth country of operation in Europe for the O&M subsidiary. With the creation of EDF EN Services Italia, EDF Energies Nouvelles significantly strengthens its positions in Europe.
To date in Europe, EDF EN Services has a portfolio of 2.4 GW of capacity to manage in operation and maintenance.
Operations-Maintenance in North America: continued development
This year, EDF Renewable Services, a subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles dedicated to O&M in the United States, Canada and Mexico, continues its development in 2014, notably with 588 MW of new contracts for wind and solar installations in Canada and the United States with 656 MW.
Today, EDF Renewable Services has 8.5 GW of capacity to manage in operation and maintenance.
