EDF Energies Nouvelles commissions a 24 MW wind farm in France, in the Picardie region

EDF Energies Nouvelles is continuing its development in France with the commissioning of the Basse Thiérache Sud wind farm in Picardy, with a capacity of 24 MW.

Located in the municipalities of Iron and Villers-lès-Guise in the Aisne department, the Basse Thierache Sud wind farm is made up of eight Siemens turbines with a unit power of 3 MW.

The production of the wind installation, owned equally by EDF Energies Nouvelles and Diamond Generating Europe, is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of more than 21,000 inhabitants.
This installation mobilized nearly 25 local jobs during the construction phase.

To date, EDF Energies Nouvelles has 83 MW of wind energy in operation in the Picardy Region and has a portfolio of 136 MW of wind projects in development or construction.
In France in 2014, EDF Energies Nouvelles added an additional 160 gross MW to its portfolio of operating wind farms, totaling 934 gross MW on the national territory.
