Continuing to strengthen its positions on the French wind energy market, EDF Energies Nouvelles announces the commissioning of the Portes de Champagne wind farm with a capacity of 12.3 MW in the Marne department.
Made up of 6 turbines (4 located in Essarts-le-Vicomte and 2 in the town of La Forestière) with a unit power of 2.05 MW, this park was developed and built by EDF Energies Nouvelles. Its operation and maintenance will be ensured by its subsidiary EDF EN Services.
Ultimately, this new installation will produce on average the equivalent of the annual electricity consumption of 11,000 inhabitants (heating included) and will prevent the release of around 2,000 tonnes of CO into the atmosphere.2/ year.
The commissioning of the Portes de Champagne wind farm, combined with the upcoming commissioning of the Pouzols wind farm (Aude), with a power of 5.1 MW, brings EDF EN's installed wind capacity in France to 773.5 MW gross*.
Over the last six months, EDF Energies Nouvelles has very significantly strengthened its presence on the national territory with the successive acquisitions of the onshore wind activities of Iberdrola Renovables France and Séchilienne Sidec for a total of 361 MW gross, as well as the commissioning of 65 MW of new capacities developed internally.
