Atlantique Offshore Energy, the division dedicated to Marine Energy of Chantiers de l'Atlantique, has just successfully concluded the design, manufacturing, integration and commissioning phases of the equipment for the offshore electrical substation which will soon be installed offshore. coasts of Fécamp for the Fécamp offshore wind farm co-owned by EDF Renewables, EIH S.à rl, a subsidiary of Enbridge and CPP Investments, and wpd. For this achievement, Atlantique Offshore Energy is leading a consortium formed with GE Grid Solutions and SDI, a subsidiary of DEME Group.
A real regional project, the construction of the substation of the Fécamp offshore wind farm has mobilized, over the last two years, more than 450 people in Pays de Loire. This new project benefited from the feedback obtained following the latest works carried out, and in particular that installed in August 2021 for the Saint-Nazaire offshore wind farm. It reinforces the sustainability of Chantiers de l'Atlantique's activity in this renewable marine energy sector with many other projects to be carried out in France and internationally. An “extraordinary” recruitment campaign was recently launched by Chantiers de l’Atlantique to attract the talents who will support this development.
On the occasion of this event, Frédéric Grizaud, Director of Atlantique Offshore Energy, specifies: “The departure of this new substation once again demonstrates the ability of our teams to successfully carry out turnkey projects for our customers in France and internationally. It is a source of great pride for our teams to contribute to the growth of this industrial sector and the European energy transition. We are also strengthening our efforts in current recruitment campaigns with many positions now open and accessible to different profiles.”
Bertrand Allanic, Director of the Fécamp offshore wind farm for EDF Renewables, declared on behalf of the consortium: “Since its launch in 2020, the Fécamp offshore wind farm project is progressing at a good pace. We are happy to take another important step today alongside our partner Atlantique Offshore Energy, the division dedicated to Marine Energy at Chantiers de l'Atlantique, with the finalization of the electrical substation. The teams are now preparing for its installation at sea off the coast of Fécamp during the summer. The mobilization of more than 450 people in Pays de Loire over the last two years, for the creation of this centerpiece of the park, demonstrates the realization of the development of the French offshore wind sector, a dynamic to which EDF Renewables and its partners are proud to participate. »

About the Fécamp offshore wind farm
Led by EDF Renewables, EIH Sarl (subsidiary of Enbridge Inc. and CPP Investments) and wpd Offshore, the Fécamp offshore wind farm, with a capacity of nearly 500 MW, will be made up of 71 wind turbines located between 13 and 22 km off the coast. Its commissioning is planned for 2023. It will then produce the equivalent of the annual electricity consumption of 770,000 people, or more than 60% of the inhabitants of Seine-Maritime.
The Fécamp offshore wind farm is an example of an industrial sector that creates value and jobs for the regions and responds to local and national energy and economic challenges.
