Perpignan, June 13, 2017 – In order to promote local employment in the field of construction, the CCI Régionale Occitanie, the French Building Federation Occitanie, the Regional Federation of Public Works Occitanie, the DERBI Competitiveness Pole sign today, with EDF Energies Nouvelles, a charter of social and environmental commitment relating to the company's renewable energy projects in the Occitanie Region.
The wind and photovoltaic projects currently being developed by EDF Energies Nouvelles should generate a significant volume of work that could involve local companies (earthworks, civil engineering, electrical networks and telecommunications).
This partnership agreement aims to support local companies so that they prepare to respond to works contracts launched during the construction of wind farms. It thus allows us to participate in the fight against social exclusion and promote local and regional employment.
The signatory partners representing companies and DERBI undertake in return to support their member companies to help them apply for these markets.
The actors of this charter also intend to make compliance with environmental criteria a strong commitment for companies involved in the construction of future wind and photovoltaic farms.
EDF Energies Nouvelles is committed to including environmental and social clauses in the works contracts of the projects it will construct in the Occitanie Region.
The signing of this charter embodies EDF Energies Nouvelles' desire to develop virtuous and sustainable projects, adapted to the social, economic and environmental challenges of the territories in which they are located. Committed alongside local employment stakeholders, EDF Energies Nouvelles supports local companies, so that they prepare to position themselves on future works markets for its renewable energy projects.
