EDF Energies Nouvelles announces the commissioning of the Massangis solar power plant, with an installed capacity of 56 MWp, in the Burgundy region.
Located in the Yonne department, the Massangis photovoltaic power plant is equipped with around 700,000 new generation photovoltaic panels, called “thin film”, produced by First Solar. It produces the equivalent of the electricity consumption of around 26,000 inhabitants and avoids the emission of around 4,300 tonnes of CO2 per year.
A project started in 2010, this plant was developed and built by EDF EN France and commissioned in successive phases since spring 2012. Its operation and maintenance will be ensured by EDF EN Services, a subsidiary of EDF Energies Nouvelles.
The commissioning of the Massangis photovoltaic power plant completes the EDF Energies Nouvelles production fleet in France.
