The EDF Group, via its subsidiary EDF Renewable Energy (EDF RE)*, has entered into a partnership with Procter & Gamble to supply wind-generated electricity to all North American manufacturing sites for P&G linen and bathroom care products. home (such as Febreze or Mr Propre).
This partnership with P&G is presented as a concrete solution for the American Business Act on Climate Pledge bringing together American companies committed to the fight against global warming.
An official signing ceremony was held at the White House. To celebrate this collaboration, EDF and Procter & Gamble symbolically built a unique animation of miniature wind turbines in front of the Capitol in Washington.
The electricity sold to P&G under a long-term power supply contract will be produced from a wind farm that will come online in late 2016 in Cooke County, Texas. With a capacity of 123 MW gross, it will enable P&G to avoid the emission of more than 200,000 tonnes of CO2 each year and contribute significantly to their commitment to reach 30% of renewable energy to power their factories in the world by 2020.
Since 2011, EDF has crossed the gigawatt mark of wind power installed in this state, demonstrating its place among the largest developers of renewable energy in North America.
