EDF Renewables announces the opening of crowdfunding, via Lendosphere, for the construction of the Civaux solar power plant, in Vienne.
This collection will allow the population to invest until August 20 in the photovoltaic plant. This fundraising campaign is reserved for residents of the department where the project is located, Vienne (86), as well as neighboring departments: Charente (16), Indre (36), Indre-et-Loire (37), Maine- et-Loire (49), Deux-Sèvres (79) and Haute-Vienne (87). Investors will be kept informed of the construction site and electricity production throughout the duration of the project.
The solar power plant is located on a former sand pit located in Civaux. With this photovoltaic project, and thanks to collaboration with the municipality and the nuclear electricity production center of Civaux, the land will host a renewable energy production activity.
With a total installed power of 5 MW, the Civaux photovoltaic plant is made up of around 10,000 panels. It will produce 6 GWh annually, equivalent to the average electricity consumption of around 2,650 inhabitants. Crowdfunding makes it possible to support the construction of this power plant, work on which began in January 2022 with cleaning the land, earthworks and the construction of tracks and platforms for commissioning scheduled for February 2023.
With a goal of €120,000, this participatory capital financing allows residents to be involved in the energy transition of their region while benefiting from economic spinoffs, and allows investors to decarbonize their savings by participating in a short-circuit project.
The investment terms (yield, duration, etc.) are presented on:
For Thibault Veyssière, Director of the Grand-Ouest Zone of EDF Renewables: “ The Civaux photovoltaic power plant is the result of rigorous collaborative work between the municipality, the EDF Renewables teams and the teams from the nuclear division of the EDF Group. This project is fully part of the approach to optimizing the use of spaces with a view to developing renewable energies in the region. It was designed with respect for the sensitive habitats and species present on the installation site. »
