EDF Renewables and Lendosphere launch a crowdfunding campaign for the Saint-Sornin-Leulac solar power plant, in Haute-Vienne

EDF Renewables announces the opening today of crowdfunding, via Lendosphere, for the construction of the Saint-Sornin-Leulac solar power plant, in Haute-Vienne.

This collection will allow the local population to invest until August 20 in the photovoltaic plant. This fundraising campaign is reserved for residents of the department where the project is located, Haute-Vienne (87), as well as neighboring departments: Charente (16), Corrèze (19), Creuse (23), Dordogne (24). , Indre (36), Vienna (86). Investors will be kept informed of the construction site and electricity production throughout the duration of the project.

This photovoltaic project with a surface area of 5.54 hectares is located in the town of Saint-Sornin-Leulac, in Haute-Vienne, on the edge of an abandoned road. With this photovoltaic project, and thanks to close collaboration with the Gartempe Saint-Pardoux urban community, the land will host a renewable energy production activity.

With a total installed capacity of 3.7 MW, the Saint-Sornin-Leulac photovoltaic power plant is made up of more than 5,940 panels. It will produce annually the equivalent of the average electricity consumption of around 1,850 inhabitants.

Crowdfunding makes it possible to support the construction of this power plant. The work began on October 19, 2021 with clearing the land, earthworks and the construction of tracks and platforms. The first photovoltaic panels will be installed at the end of summer 2022 for commissioning scheduled for February 2023.

With a target of €90,000, this participatory capital financing makes it possible to involve residents in the energy transition of their territory while benefiting from economic spinoffs, and for investors to decarbonize their savings by participating in a short-circuit project.

The investment terms (yield, duration, etc.) are presented on:

For Thibault Veyssière, Director of the Grand-Ouest Zone of EDF Renewables:The Saint-Sornin-Leulac photovoltaic power plant is the result of close collaboration between the Gartempe Saint-Pardoux urban community and EDF Renouvelables, initiated in 2016. It will produce reliable and local electricity, equivalent to 38 % of the average annual electricity consumption of the inhabitants of the community of municipalities. We are therefore very happy to offer the local population the opportunity to participate in the project, through this crowdfunding. ".
