EDF Renewables and Lendosphere launch a crowdfunding campaign for the Salon-de-Provence solar power plant, in Bouches-du-Rhône

EDF Renewables announces the opening today of crowdfunding, via Lendosphere, for the construction of the Salon-de-Provence solar power plant, in Bouches-du-Rhône.

This collection will allow the local population to invest until August 20 in the photovoltaic power plant. This fundraising campaign is reserved for residents of the department where the project is located, Bouches-du-Rhône (13), as well as the neighboring departments: Gard (30), Var (83) and Vaucluse (84). Investors will be kept informed of the construction site and electricity production throughout the duration of the project.

Located on a site belonging to EDF Hydro, the photovoltaic project was initiated in close collaboration with the EDF Hydro Méditerranée teams and the municipality of Salon-de-Provence, which wishes to promote the development of renewable energies in its territory and contribute to the fight against climate change.

With a total installed power of 3.4 MW, the Salon-de-Provence photovoltaic plant is made up of 6,075 panels. It will produce annually the equivalent of the average electricity consumption of around 2,225 people.

The collaborative platform makes it possible to finance part of the construction of this power plant, work on which will begin in September 2022 with clearing the land and earthworks. Commissioning of the plant is planned for spring 2023.

With a target of €85,000, this participatory capital funding allows residents to be involved in the energy transition of their region while benefiting from economic spinoffs, and allows investors to decarbonize their savings by participating in a short-circuit project.

The investment terms (yield, duration, etc.) are presented on:

For Sofiane Boukebbous, South-East and Overseas Area Director of EDF Renewables:We are very pleased to offer local residents the opportunity to invest in this ground-mounted photovoltaic power plant in Salon-de-Provence. The latter is the culmination of close collaboration between the territory, EDF Hydro Méditerranée and EDF Renewables, for the development of land belonging to the Salon-de-Provence hydroelectric plant and the territory's efforts for the development of renewable energies and the energy and ecological transition. »
