EDF Renewables and Lendosphere launch a crowdfunding campaign for the Épinac solar power plant, in Saône-et-Loire

EDF Renewables announces the opening of crowdfunding, via Lendosphere, for the construction of the Épinac solar power plant, in Saône-et-Loire.

This collection will allow the local population to invest until August 20 in the photovoltaic plant. This fundraising campaign is reserved for residents of the department where the project is located, Saône-et-Loire (71), as well as neighboring departments: Ain (01), Allier (03), Côte-d'Or (21). ), Jura (39), Loire (42), Nièvre (58) and Rhône (69). Investors will be kept informed of the construction site and electricity production throughout the duration of the project.

The solar power plant is located on land for storage and recovery of coal residues from the site's former mining activity. With this photovoltaic project, and thanks to close collaboration with the municipality of Épinac, the site will host a renewable energy production activity.

With a total installed capacity of 3.1 MW, the Épinac photovoltaic power plant is made up of approximately 5,600 panels. It will produce the equivalent of the annual electricity consumption of approximately 70% of the population of Epinac.

Crowdfunding makes it possible to support the construction of this power plant. The work, carried out by the LUXEL company (100 % subsidiary of EDF Renewables) began at the beginning of January 2022 with the construction of tracks and platforms. Installation of the panels will begin at the end of October 2022 with commissioning planned for the first quarter of 2023.

With a goal of €80,000, this crowdfunding makes it possible to involve residents in the energy transition of their territory while benefiting from economic spinoffs, and for investors to decarbonize their savings by participating in a short-circuit project.

The investment terms (yield, duration, etc.) are presented on:

Jennifer Ménage, Area Director of EDF Renewables:The Épinac photovoltaic power plant is the result of close collaboration between the municipality and EDF Renewables, and demonstrates the municipality's desire to engage in renewable energies. It is fully in line with national and regional energy transition ambitions, while proposing to optimize the use of spaces. ".
