LUXEL, a subsidiary of EDF Renewables, announces the opening on June 18 of crowdfunding on the Lendosphere participatory platform to finance the construction of a solar power plant located in Vitry-en-Charollais in Saône-et-Loire. This investment opportunity is aimed at residents of the departments: Saône-et-Loire, Jura, Ain, Rhône, Loire, Allier, Nièvre and Côte-d'Or, with a collection objective set at €235,000.
The terms of this investment (yield, duration, etc.) are presented on: www.lendosphere.com/vitry
The Vitry-en-Charollais solar power plant was the winner of a national call for tenders for ground-mounted solar power plants. As such, it is committed to offering crowdfunding to Saône-et-Loiriens and residents of neighboring departments: Jura, Ain, Rhône, Loire, Allier, Nièvre, Côte-d'Or. This territorial exclusivity encourages the use of short-circuit savings and allows direct economic benefits for the local citizens of the project.
Through this operation, residents of the departments concerned are eligible to become shareholders of the solar power plant and thus contribute to financing the work that is underway. The first photovoltaic panels will be installed in September 2021 and the commissioning of the plant is planned for summer 2022.
This campaign will be launched on June 18, with a goal of raising €235,000. To participate and invest in this regional project to reduce the carbon footprint of their savings, individuals must first register on the Lendosphere platform, which presents this campaign.
Involve residents in the energy transition of their territory
“The Vitry-en-Charollais photovoltaic power plant is 100 % in line with the French State's objective of favoring solar power on already anthropized sites. It is with pleasure that we offer the local population the opportunity to actively participate through this crowdfunding in the life of the plant”, declares Antoine Fillault, Project Director AURA / Bourgogne-Franche-Comté / Grand-Est of LUXEL.
Established on an industrial wasteland at the end of its operation and with a total installed capacity of 6.7 MWp, the Vitry-en-Charollais photovoltaic power plant will be made up of more than 16,400 panels. By 2022, it will produce 7.6 GWh annually, equivalent to the average annual electricity consumption of around 3,100 inhabitants*. This will prevent the annual emission of more than 1,870 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere.
*2,457kWh per inhabitant per year: average value calculated on the basis of residential consumption of Continental France in 2016 (158.5 TWh) reduced to the population (64.5 million inhabitants).
