Paris, May 28, 2021 – Richard Viel, Chairman and CEO of Bouygues Telecom and Marc Benayoun, EDF Group Executive Director, today signed a supply contract incorporating a PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) which will cover more than 10 % of Bouygues’ electricity consumption Telecom by 2024.
Between 2022 and 2024, EDF will make 203 GWh of renewable electricity available to Bouygues Telecom, or the equivalent of the electricity production of six wind farms operated by its subsidiary EDF Renewables and retained by the telecommunications operator. The supply contract established for a period of three years, thus guarantees the extension of the operation of these parks after exiting the purchase obligation system. The installations concerned are those of Trois-Sources (Meuse), Stenay (Meuse), Niedervisse (Moselle), La Heroudière (Manche), La Nourais (Ille-et-Vilaine) and Riols (Hérault).
The supply of the PPA integrated into the Bouygues Telecom supply contract will be ensured via Agregio, the subsidiary of the EDF group specializing in the valorization of renewable energy production.
With this contract, Bouygues Telecom confirms its commitment to the development of renewable energies, by making it possible to maintain existing renewable production units in operation. It is thus continuing its actions in favor of the energy transition, after opting at the beginning of 2021 for a 100 % renewable electricity supply certified by guarantees of origin. The operator is also part of a logic of territorial development, by selecting production parks well distributed across the territory and located near its own facilities.
For its part, EDF has made the energy transition one of the pillars of its purpose. A leading player in renewable energies, the Group contributes to their development by relying on the expertise and know-how of its subsidiaries EDF Renouvelables and Agregio, thus offering effective and innovative solutions to meet the expectations of its customers.
